        <![CDATA[<p>In spirit of Strand Books tote-bag artist series, a <a href="http://www.strandbooks.com/app/www/p/totebagcontest/" target="_blank">contest</a> was created inviting budding artists to submit original illustrations featuring the Strand Book Store.</p>

<p>I decided to give it a shot, featuring their "founding father" Benjamin Bass (or rather what I like to imagine him as) surrounded by art nouveau decor, a representation of the years Strand has been open in roman numerals, and shelves and shelves of beloved books.</p>
